Dedicated to the memory of Margaret

This site is a tribute to Marg, who was born in Manchester on February 17, 1957. She is much loved and will always be remembered with great fondness by her family.

Marg loved her family and cared so much for causes close to her heart like The Christie and Cancer Research.

Marg grew up in Altrincham and went to Blessed Thomas Holford High School before beginning her working life at Dun & Bradstreet and IBM.

Marg spent her latter years doing work that was close to her heart, working in schools to support new generations of kids, inspiring them with reading support, nurturing them to develop a love of reading.

In addition, Marg worked as an Examinations Officer, supporting her schools to make sure that the kids only had to worry about taking the tests.

After her brave battle with Cancer, Marg volunteered with The Christie, a cause that became her passion and strength and saw an opportunity to give back to those that had helped her so.

Marg worked with the charity team but also worked as part of the welcome team, giving her personality and strength to hundreds of people starting their journey against cancer.  Marg's warmth, smile and love was the perfect balance for such a task.

Marg was loved by everyone, her personality infectious, her strength of character limitless, her generosity selfless.

I hope that this tribute will help to bring people together during this sad time.  I would like to hear stories and tales from far and wide from those that knew Marg and learn even more about her.

I hope that over time, that those that knew her can come together and give something back to a cause and a place that Marg was so thankful for, The Christie.

Anyone that would like to fundraise and help with this, please reach out as I would love to reach the target of £15,000 over time to leave a permanent memorial at The Christie in Marg's memory.

Give an extra long hug to your loved ones today, let them know they are loved, it was Marg's way.

It’s one year today since Margaret Hunt passed away and the world is a much darker place because of it. This is one of the last messages she ever sent me, I think she knew it was the last time she would see me, and if I search my soul enough - I knew it was the last time too and I couldn’t bear it. I thought I would share this as a reminder to always tell the people you love that you love them, and to treasure every moment ❤️ 💔 ‘It was so lovely to see you all today and you looking so well and happy. It meant so much to me. You and Jamie are amazing and Jamie is our family, another much loved nephew. Cael is one amazing little boy who will make a great difference in the world as he grows older. You have nurtured him so well. Take care, love you loads 😽 🥰❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹’

How has it been a year?! A whole 365 days without you in our lives. I've tried to channel your strength, tenacity and positivity to work through everything that has been thrown our way. You made it look effortless. There have been some challenges where your wisdom would have been welcome. You always had a way of making life easier. I miss your smile and kindness and will everyday, but I try to smile and be kinder in your memory in the hopes it makes someone else's day that bit better. So grateful to have known you and shared in your life.
